"Fee?" Kili asks from under the blankets. "When's uncle Thorin coming back?"
"He'll be back when you wake." Fili sighs, shifts towards his brother and cuddles him closer. "Go to sleep."
Blinking tiredly, Kili stretches his arm across Fili's stomach and pouts. "But Fee-"
"Kili!" Fili scolds. "For the hundredth time, go to sleep!"
Kili settles down reluctantly, shoving his thumb between his lips. Fili tugs it away and wipes the spit on his shirt. He closes his eyes and begins to hum the familiar tune, his chest rumbling against Kili's cheek.
Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep, and caverns old…
They're both asleep before Fili could finish the song.
