So here's the first chapter. I don't own ghost hunt but I do absolutely adore it! There will be Naru x Mai, and there will be stuff about Mai's powers and obviously ghostly hauntings part

Today the gang from Shibuya Psychic Research travelled to the theatre. Finally a field trip or o I thought, turns out we are here for a job.

According to the owner there has been a lot of activity here; the lights falling from the rafters, music seemingly playing from nowhere, and applause coming from a non-existent audience.

This has to be one of our most exciting locations yet, and seen as it isn't anyone's house I wouldn't feel nosy if I had a look around, but as usual I am stuck here at base while everyone else explores.

We set up in one of the main dressing rooms a couple of doors away from the stage, it's quite cramped, and we could only just fit all the equipment in. The rooms were staying are small to and when Masako and John arrive tomorrow we will be packed pretty tight in them.

With a sigh I stare down at my textbook, all the words are merging into one. The exams at school are really stressing me out; I can't afford to screw them up. I've missed a lot of the classes because of my job, so I have to study extra hard, I bought all of my text books along.

I throw the textbook the other side of the table, with an angry sigh, just as Naru enters with Lin.

'Careful Mai, just because you're stupid doesn't mean you have to take it out on the book.' He says calmly.

'That's easy for you to say, you get to work instead of taking school exams' I shout.

'Hey, what's with all the shouting over here?' Takigawa asks as he walks in.

'Oh quit your whining Mai, we've all had to do them' Ayako says following. 'Besides you do get to miss most of your school days to do this job'

'So you think I've got it easy, you grew up rich and spoilt' I retort angrily

'Clam down Mai, once these exams are over you'll feel so much better. You're really cranky at the moment' Monk says as he puts his hands on my shoulders.

I breathe deeply and feel some of the stress lift,' Yeah I know but all the pressure is doing a number on my sleep I haven't been getting any.'

Naru looks up from his monitor next to Lin, 'You can go have a sleep now we won't need you to much'

I thought I saw some kindness in his eyes but then it's gone. God he gets on my nerves, but I don't argue and walk out and along the corridor to the temporary bedroom.
