A/N- Ah, another challenge from the ever-so-lovely FH96. Challenge: Halice, whatever prompt I desire, with a word count of 150. Let's get on with it, then!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything. That includes Alice in Wonderland, in any way, shape, or form.
Alice rolled out of bed, stretching and twisting with a loud yawn. A sleepy smile crept across her face when she remembered what day it was. Alice floated about the house looking for Hatter, but he was missing. She poked her head out the window and spotted him at the table outside.
"Hatter!" She lifted the hem of her nightgown to run and greet him. He stood and embraced the young woman.
"Good morning, Alice."
"Hatter, do you know what today is?"
He removed his top hat to scratch his wild red hair. "I haven't checked! Why?"
Alice giggled. "It's my birthday!"
"Oh." Hatter sat back down and gulped his tea. "Happy birthday, then." He ate a sugar cube nonchalantly, as if Alice had merely made a comment about the weather instead of a celebratory occasion.
"Hatter! You have nothing more to say than that?"
Hatter shrugged. "Why have one birthday when you can have hundreds of un-birthdays?"
A/N- That greedy Alice, trying to swindle more presents out of Tarrant. Shame on her.
