It felt so good to be back in Defiance. This rundown city is the closest thing I have to a home and the people here are the closest thing I have to a family now. Since my mother was taken by the Votanis Collective when I was about eight years old, the only one who was ever there for me was a Bioman named Franklin who took me in when I had nowhere else to go. I had to find Tommy, I missed him so much.
'I hope he's not too busy' I thought.
"Frank, you go find Amanda and Kenya and I'm gonna go look for Tommy" I suggested.
"Sounds good to me, Soph" he replied
As he headed toward the NeedWant, I made my way to the lawkeeper's office. Finally after four years I would get to see Tommy again. When I got to the lawkeeper's, I found a scruffy looking man about 6' tall over by the desk. He was accompanied by an Irathient girl about my age. They had both turned as I entered the room.
Meanwhile, Franklin made his way to the NeedWant. As soon as he walked through the door, he caught Amanda's eye. She rushed over to give him a hug.
"Franklin, how are you" she asked, "Where's Sophie"
"I'm fine thank you" he politely retorted, "She went over to the lawkeeper's office to see Tommy"
"Oh no" the blood drained from Amanda's face, "We need to get to her before she gets to the office."
"Why, what's wrong" Franklin was completely lost.
"Tommy's dead" pain was evident in her voice
