The Most important part

This is just a quick one shot about someone very special to me

Also thought I'd try something different. Let me know what you think

I don't own Thunderbirds…sadly

One minute you're peacefully tucked up, resting.

The next a call comes in and you're off to a Rescue and typically you're one who is needed.

It's nothing difficult, just a simple water based rescue, which means Thunderbird 4 is also required.

Once all the pre-flight checks are complete i make my way out on to the launch site and head off. The call "Thunderbird 2 is go" is made over the radio back to base as I soar.

After a relatively short flight I arrive at the Rescue sight and Fours module is deployed.

Several minutes later the call comes through that the mini sub has been located and the Rescue is underway.

Patiently I wait high above the surface in case I am needed.

Nothing…

Nothing...

Then…it happens

My help is required.

The line is locked and fired. It attaches firmly first attempt.

Then all I have to do is hold the sub steady as Gordon gets the escape chute into place to evacuate those trapped inside.

A slight tug is felt on the line – it's but nothing I can't handle. After all the sub is no match in its size or weight

"Everyone is securely aboard, heading back to the module" Gordon calls out

The line is released and I make my way back over to retrieve the module.

Gordon and our guests make their way up to the cockpit where they secure themselves in before I take us back to dry land.

"Good job down there"

"Thanks" Gordon replies

Like I said a simple rescue.

We finally get back to base and enter the hangar

As always I make sure we all make it back in one piece.

After all It is the most important part of my job

Checks are done and everything is powered down…but ready in case another call comes in.

It's once again time to get some rest and I definitely intend to make the most of it.

"Thanks old girl" Virgil says quietly.

He gently places his hand on my control console in gratitude before he leaves me alone.

Then silence...

…until next time
