"Why do you want to go to the aquarium, again?"

"It's…I think it would be fun to do. Last time it was fun, that's all. Oh, and this time we can go make faces at the dolphins. We didn't get a chance last time." Mordecai chuckled, and looked into Margaret's big auburn eyes.

Margaret held her breath for a moment, and then, as if to almost deflate—let out a sudden gush of air.

"Do you realize what you're doing?"

The Blue Jay gazed uneasily about the room.

"No...?"

"This whole time you've been suggesting dates to places we've already been, and you took me to that Amadeus restaurant. I just find it kind of weird," Margaret spun the other way on the edge of her heel, walked towards a window, and tugged it shut, frustrated. "Are you okay?"

Mordecai fumbled with his words, and began to shake.

"I'm sorry…I'm-I wish it could stay like this forev-"

"Yo, you took Margaret to the airport?"

Abruptly, Mordecai's eyes dropped down quickly to meet Rigby's. His seemed to almost bulge with concern at the tall bird.

Gloomily, Mordecai felt the rough, beaten roof tiles beneath him for reassurance, and looked away. He took a big gulp of afternoon air, and let out a defeated sigh.

"Yeah."

The raccoon squinted at the dusk, then rested his eyes on his tired friend once more.

"You wanna talk about it?"

"No,"

Rigby sighed. Handing Mordecai a soda, the raccoon sat beside him, and glared at the obnoxious glint of the golden sunset in front of the two of them. They each took a generous swig of their cans while awkwardly avoiding eye contact, and Mordecai looked onward towards the overwhelming sun silently.

"…but I'll be okay."
