Hugo Weasley should hate Scorpius Malfoy. His father hates Scorpius's father, Rose hates Scorpius himself, and most of his cousins (especially James and except for Albus) don't like him. And because he is a Weasley in Gryffindor, hate for a Malfoy in Slytherin would be a natural thing. It was pretty much expected.
Hugo Weasley doesn't hate Scorpius Malfoy, though. Maybe it's because he is supposed to (he never was good at fulfilling expectations). Or because he has heard so many exaggerated tales of Scorpius's wrongdoings that the real thing is not as bad as he expected. Or because Scorpius is not really an awful person, but rather a boy pretending to be something he is not to satisfy the expectations of his father and housemates. Or because Sorpius never wanted to be a Slytherin, and instead wished to be the first Malfoy in generations to be something different. Or because Scorpius is not an evil Slytherin, just ambitious (like Al).
Hugo Weasley likes Scorpius Malfoy. Much to everyone's surprise (and all but Al's dismay), he becomes friends with Scorpius. The two of them talk about Quidditch and ice cream and everything in between, and along with Al they become inseperable.
And despite their tempers, Hugo and Scorpius get along perfectly.
Until Scorpius starts dating his sister.
