A/n: Can this be considered crack? Y'know, I'm not entirely sure.

I adore Gen1. They are the most fun to write because I can do whatever the hell I want with them…Though I tend to ignore canon personalities for the most part in Kushina and Minatos case, for many reasons. The principal reason is that for so long we knew nothing about them, so I had to make up how I thought they would be. They've become set in my mind in that way and so, as sweet as it was, I ignore all chapters in which they appear…when I write.

I hope you enjoy anyway~!

"See, this is the part where you reply accordingly, voicing your adoration and esteem for myself and our involvement."

"What did you swallow darling? A Jane Austin novel?" Mikoto giggled behind her hand within the circle of her dear, twitching boyfriend's arms. "You have it, you know that," her hands fell away from her mouth and of their own accord, as if guided by a puppet master's strings, automatically lifted to Fugaku's face. She kissed his nose sweetly. "Happy birthday."

"And you know what that means?" A voice called from above. The couple looked up to find Minato and Kushina –dumb and dumbest in the Uchiha's mind –with their elbows propping up their chins, grinning twin dorky smiles that seemed (only to him) vaguely, disturbingly threatening.

"Don't you just hate it when couples start to look alike? Personally, I find it unseemly." Fugaku bit out snidely.

They landed beside them with two muted thumps. "We," Kushina made a vague, exaggerated gesture between herself and the blond, "Are not a couple. Never gonna happen."

"Y-yeah," Minato agreed, smile peeling off his face like acrylic off of oil. "And we owe you birthday beats." The leering expression returned. Fugaku felt as if he were being threatened with excruciating torture, with a smile.

Oh so subtly (meaning with that of a sledgehammer), Fugaku shifted behind Mikoto. All kind words and sweet smiles; she'd protect him from these…savages who called themselves his friends.

"Don't worry, I'll kiss it better later," she assured him (traitor that she was!) then sidled off. "Avoid the face if you can!" she called over her shoulder.

"Will do!"

As the two most hyperactive ninjas he knew loomed closer, Fugaku cursed fiendish women, their propensity towards violence and birthdays.

Especially birthdays.

A/n: Short and sort of sweet I suppose. I think there will be a lot more of these soon to come, I'm churning out ideas at an alarming rate these days.

Every time a reader forgets to review, Lee's smile looses just a bit of its ping.

Don't let Lee's flame of youth die.
