Many years had passed since Anthony´s dead, but Candy still dreamed about him...
A strange dream
The war had just ended and Candy was living in Pony´s Home, where she had a room of her own. Then, one night she was having a strange dream about Anthony.
In that dream she received a letter and she opened it. There was a wedding invitation inside.
"I wonder, who is getting married...It must be Annie and Archie! Finally!" She thought happily.
When she opened the invitation, she couldn´t believe it: it was a wedding invitation from Eliza! There was her name and a date, which was today, but there was no mention of the groom anywhere.
"How strange...There´s no name of the groom..." She wondered. "Never mind" She said. It didn´t matter anyway, because she wasn´t going to go to the wedding. Why would Eliza even invite her? She hated Candy.
Candy was about to throw the invitation away, when she heard noises coming from the yard and so she went to see, what was happening. It was Albert, who had yelled her name. He looked serious and worried so something must have happened.
"Candy! Come quickly! We have to stop the wedding!"
"What? You mean Eliza`s wedding? Why? I didn`t even know she was getting married until this invitation arrived"
"So she even invited you...She just wants to hurt you any way she can..."
"Why would the knowledge of her getting married hurt me?"
Albert couldn´t look into Candy´s eyes, when he answered her question.
"I´m sorry, Candy. She´s marrying Anthony..."
Candy´s heart almost stopped, when she heard his name. Why would Albert say, that Eliza is marrying Anthony?
"But that´s impossible! Anthony is dead!"
"No, Candy. He isn´t dead...I just found out myself...After the accident aunt Elroy sent him away in secrecy. He was badly wounded and he stayed a long time in a hospital..."
She couldn´t believe his words. Anthony was alive? Why wasn´t she told? Why...Her eyes became wet from tears, when she thought of Anthony was alive.
"Where has he been and why didn´t he come back to me?"
"He lost his memory, which suited aunt Elroy and Cousin Sarah just fine. They always wanted to separate you and Anthony, so that one day he could marry Sarah´s daughter Eliza. They lied to you that Anthony was dead, but he never was..."
"Why is he marrying Eliza?"
"He doesn´t remember you... and I believe that he is forced to marry her..."
Candy was very upset. How could they force Anthony to marry Eliza against his will? She knew that they were cruel, but this was too much...
"Candy! Do you see now, why we must stop the wedding?"
"Yes! I don´t want Anthony to go through that...I still love him"
Candy and Albert rushed towards the church, where the wedding would take place.
"Anthony! Anthony! Wait for me!"
Candy yelled until she woke up from her dream in her own bed in Pony´s Home. Clint was next to her.
"Candy, calm down" she said to herself "it was just a dream, just a dream"
