This literally happened out of nowhere. The events take place between "Lily" and "Mother" because I still feel victimized by this pregnancy storyline.

Story is mine. Characters and everything else belongs to ABC.

She almost lost her mind when the world turned its back on her again. She blinked several times, trying to understand what was going on. There was no reason, not an acceptable one, for him to stay.

So, when she heard the news, the world suddenly turned into its axis. She felt like the rug had been pulled from under her feet, making her fall hard on an abyss of dread.

She saw him leave in hopes to find a way back to him. The single tear running down his cheek ripped her heart apart. Why it had to be like that? Someone loved her, but had to leave. Everyone leaves.

Now it's different, she is trying to tame her heart, to not let the darkness sip in again. She speaks and feels like he needs to know she's hurt, even though it's unfair. It's unfair to demand anything when she was the first to let hope go.

It's unfair because he was violated in the worst way possible because of her. He's lost his wife because of her. Roland's lost his mom again because of her. His life has become a living hell because of her, and she lets him know that when they are on the road. Silence is the first reaction.

When they get home, when he sees his friends again, and feels like freedom is an option, he goes back to her. It's not your fault, he tells her, making sure to let her know that he stands for his choices. He says she isn't to blame for anything because he chose to honor a marriage that was no more. If she gave up on hope, so did he, and in this they are equals.

He holds her gloved hand, and realizes that life turned gray when he stepped out of Storybrooke. And it has been colorless since he erased her number and chose to live a lie.

She just looks at him, and despite the desperation inside, Regina realizes that maybe there's a way to fix everything because the swift peace she feels in her chest is a sign that perhaps the storm is about to end.
