Screams of agony and pain was heard throughout the Sakura household. The entire neighbourhood can hear it clearly, but can't do anything except to pity our young brunette.
"Poor Mikan chan. I think she's being whipped again..." said her neighbour. "I hope that that witch will not overdo it this time!" said another.
Inside the Sakura household, a young brunette was screaming due to the pain she receives from being whipped, begging her mother to stop.
"Mom, please stop *sob* *sob*. I-I didn't do it on purpose I swear...*sob* *sob*"
"THAT'S BECAUSE OF YOUR CLUMSINESS! UGH! DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT THAT VASE COST A LOT OF YEN? OH GOD, WHY DID I EVER GAVE BIRTH TO SUCH A USELESS, IDIOT, AND CLUMSY GIRL! SO NO DINNER FOR YOU TONIGHT AND YOU WIL SLEEP IN THE ATTIC!"
Her mother's words hurt her like she was stabbed by a knife. She didn't do it on purpose, I mean, it wasn't really her fault!
*FLASHBACK*
Mikan was cleaning her mother's room when she was suddenly pushed by her elder sister and accidentally tripped. Causing her to land on the vase and...*CRASH* it broke!
"OH MY GOSH! You broke mom's precious vase!" Umm...Permy, I-I didn't do it on purpose...please don't tell mom; begged Mikan.
"YOU DID IT ON PURPOSE! MOM! MIKAN NO BAKA BROKE YOUR ANTIQUE VASE; yelled Sumire.
Their mom hurriedly went upstairs and upon seeing the broken vase, her expression turned into a murderous one.
"YOU IDIOT! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY I SPEND FOR THIS?, shouted Yuka." And then she whip and whip Mikan; not paying attention to Mikan's pleas.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
Meanwhile, in a corner, Sumire was grinning evilly. "Yes! My plan work! You deserved it you bitch!"
Mikan was not given any dinner. She was task to clean their mess and other household chores. In short, she was their "maid".
"*nervous* I don't want to sleep in the attic. It's so dark up there. The ghosts might eat me... *nervous*" Mikan said to herself.
Ever since she was little, she despises the dark. It only reminds her about painful memories of the past. On the other hand, she is scared of it too because ghosts lingers in the darkness.
"Mikan, did you already finish the chores?" asked her mom.
"Hai okaa san" Mikan relied back with a smile.
"Now hurry up and sleep in the attic. I don't want to see your ugly face around" said her mom.
I think Yuka san used the wrong adjective to describe Mikan because she is not ugly. She's actually gorgeous. With mesmerizing hazel orbs, a body with perfect curves, a soft and fair skin even though she has a lot of household chores, rosy lips that makes boys drool, and soft, hazel hair.
That is the reason why Sumire hates her. Because of jealousy. She envied Mikan because of her beauty.
Well, I can't say that Sumire is ugly. She has the looks but too far if compared by Mikan. Sumire has black, permed hair thus gaining the nickname "Permy" and olive-green eyes. Well she too has a sexy body but not as perfect as Mikan's.
