A/N: This is the first fan fiction I've posted and I'm really bad at it, so
I hope it turns out okay. I'm sorry the summary was so bad.I'm not good at
them at all. Feedback is greatly appreciated. I don't own anything. Hope
you enjoy the story! -Julie
*The bar was empty
I was sweeping up the floor
That's when she walked in
I said, "I'm sorry but we're closed"
And she said "I know,
But I'm afraid I left my purse"
I said, "I put one back behind the bar
I bet it's probably yours"*
Matt Hardy looked around the empty bar with a broom in hand. He swept the floor a little more until he heard footsteps. He looked up and watched a girl with long red hair and piercing hazel eyes walk in. Matt leaned the broom up against the wall and walked over to the pretty woman.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but we're closed," he told her.
"I know you are but I think I may have left my purse," she replied. He nodded his head.
"Oh. I put a purse behind the bar. I'm sure it's yours," he replied as he went behind the bar and held up a small black purse so the woman could see.
"That is mine. Thank you," she whispered as her hazel eyes locked with him gorgeous brown ones.
*And the next thing that I knew
There we were, lost in conversation
And before I handed her her purse
I said, "You'll only get this back on one condition"*
"I'm Matt. What's your name?" Matt asked the woman.
"Amy. Amy Dumas," she answered. He smiled.
"Well, Amy, you will only get this purse back if you do one thing for me," he told her. Amy looked at him.
"What?" She asked.
"Will you dance with me?"
*And we danced
Out there on that empty hardwood floor
The chairs up and the lights turned way down low
The music played, we held each other close
And we danced*
"I will," Amy replied as she took Matt's extended hand. He brought it up to his lips and kissed it gently. Amy glanced around the dim room. The chairs were up on the tables. Matt held her close as they danced in the empty bar.
*And from that moment
There was never any doubt
I had found the one
That I had always dreamed about
And then one evening
When she stopped by after work
I pulled a diamond ring out of the pocket of my shirt
And as her eyes filled up with tears
She said, "This is the last thing I expected"
And then she took me by the hand
And said, "I'll only marry you on one condition"*
Matt washed down the tables. There was no sound. The bar was empty and he longed for Amy. He had found himself helplessly in love with her. He checked the pocket of his shirt and made sure was he was looking for was still there. When he felt it, he smiled to himself. Then he heard footsteps. He looked up and smiled at Amy as she walked in towards him.
"Hello, Matt," She whispered as she wrapped her arms around him.
"Hi Amy," he whispered as he hugged her back. "I have a question for you."
"What is it?" She asked him. She watched him pull a diamond ring out of the pocket from him shirt.
"Will you marry me?" He asked. Amy smiled as her eyes glistened with tears.
"This is the last thing I expected," she whispered as she grabbed his hand. "I will only marry you if you do one thing for me."

Like no one else had ever danced before
I can't explain what happened on that floor
But the music played
We held each other close
And we danced
Yeah, we danced*
