The Storyteller

Written for the NFA Drabble Dabble Challenge (what can I say, I like writing these)

Disclaimer: Don't own and all that.

"Have you heard of the Trickster God Anansi, Mr. Palmer?"

"No, Dr. Mallard."

And so the story starts. Remembrances tied to little known facts, made relevant to the situation at hand: a tale constructed with the artistry of a spider's web, spun along until it is cut short by necessity or interruption. The dropped thread may be picked up later and the story continued, but the web is broken, disjointed and may be missing a small section of which the meaning may be lost. Such is the plight of the wordsmith: a weaver of yarns, and loved for it, nonetheless.

I have no idea where this came from...
