Since the beginning and ever since he could remember, Gaara has had no will to live. He is hated and feared for something he had no control over and he believes himself to be weak without that unwanted demon protecting him.
His thoughts are often of suicide. He even attempted it twice only to be stopped by his own sand. He becomes empty. He does not live, he simply exists. Desperately, he tries to search for the reason of his creation. He soon finds that reason.
