I've had this story on my computer for sometime. It takes place after the rescue from New Caprica, but then it's AU. It's my take on how to get Kara and Lee together without killing off Sam or Dee. Enjoy!
A/N: Lee and Kara belong together and you can't get me to believe otherwise.

Lee tried as hard as he could to not laugh at Kara's rant. He wondered how she could not see the irony in their situation. Or the fact that she was currently yelling at her husband for something she was just getting ready to do herself. He suddenly came up with an idea, one that from the looks of things would finally get him what he wanted. Oh yeah, irony could be a good thing.
"Sam, what the frak! How long has this been going on?" demanded Kara pacing back and forth in the room. The gods must be having a good laugh at her expense right now.
"Well," began Sam looking uncomfortable, but somewhat relieved at the same time, "wait… what were you and Lee getting ready to do in here before you found the room occupied? Huh Kara? Don't yell at me when obviously you were trying to do the same thing."
He had her there, Kara could do nothing but open and close her mouth. She hated when people had a point and she had no comeback. She just stood there and looked at Sam with her eyebrow raised, still expecting an answer to her questions. No matter what she and Lee had been thinking of doing, Sam had been caught in the act.
"Fine, you want answers… you'll get them" said Sam. "This has been going on for about 4 months. And you know what…I'm not sorry. SHE listens to me, SHE doesn't shut me out. I don't have to compete with HER best friend and WE don't keep secrets from each other. I love you Kara, but I'm in love with HER."
"Do you feel the same way?" Lee asked turning to the other occupant in the room, who had been silent for the most part. She looked between him and Kara, probably wondering which one to be more afraid of. She decided to look at Sam instead.
"Yes I do." She replied.
"Do you want to be with him?" Lee asked her.
"Yes, I do." she said.
"Ok then… I have a idea," said Lee smiling at the other man.
"And that would be what?" asked Sam.
"We trade. Kara for Dee, what do you say?" said Lee.
"Yeah, that sounds like a plan," said Sam as he followed Lee out of the room.
Kara and Dee just stood there in shock… that is until Kara came to her senses…
"What the frak!" yelled Kara as she followed Lee and Sam. "I am so gonna kick your ass Adama! I am not a piece of property to be traded. And this better not be your idea of a marriage proposal."
