Milos

Spoilers!

From the top of the stair well Envy could hear them all discussing their options.

"We could send an army down there to demolish the people of Milos." Lust purred.

"No, wiping those people out would create another crest of blood, and if we were to do it there it wouldn't end up a lining with the transmutation circle. The miss placed point could mess up the entire transmutation." Wrath's voice could almost be mistaken for calm. But even from the top of the stair well Envy could hear the slight tremor of strain in his voice that was making sure he stayed calm.

"Well we can't just let them keep living there. They took our land. But if we actually do something about it, it would mess up the transmutation. Why couldn't the people of Milos just stayed where they were?" Envy smiled. He knew the answer to a problem that was baffling even Pride.

"The answer is simple. We don't do anything." All the homunculi that were present, with the exception of Gluttony, turned to look at Envy as he made his way down to where Father was seated. Even the old man was stumped. Envy felt so proud of himself.

"Envy, we just lost territory. We have less land, less humans to potentially make a philosopher's stone." Lust said in what sounded like a scolding voice.

"But our land is still a circle right?" The smile on Envy's face got wider as they all looked to Wrath for confirmation. He just gave a simple nod of the head.

"So make Milos our ally and just keep carving crests of here in Amestris." Envy loved the look of astonishment on most of the homunculi's faces as he said that. They looked at him as if he were nuts; he lived for that look.

"Envy we can't just-"

"We become allies to make sure we don't go to war. Trust me, by doing this we actually benefit." The dumb look of utter confusion remained on all the homunculi's faces accept for Lust who just looked angry at being cut off. Envy's smile inched closer and closer to his eyes.

"Well," Pride said cuttingly, "how do you suppose losing land that in itself had enough humans to make a small philosopher's stone and trusting these people to become our alley could possibly benefit us?" Lust's brows were furrowed, also trying to figure out what Envy had meant.

Envy heard Lust gasp and she turned to him wide-eyed with sadistic glee. Maybe she had looked at the article about the eclipse to? Smart girl. She smiled cruelly and with her eyes urged Envy to go on and explain to the others.

Envy let a theatrical pause pass by before saying; "Because we don't need that land. There is an eclipse coming soon. So if we just keep what we have we can carve enough crests of blood to make the transmutation in time for the eclipse. We can have our philosopher's stone sooner."

For few seconds no one spoke but Wrath broke that silence. "But the philosopher's stone will be smaller."

"There's always the next country."

Everyone turned to Father to see what he had to say. "Well I'd suggest you start working." Father turned to Wrath. "Go sign for a peace treaty and alliance with the country of Milos."

Envy turned to Father waiting for praise at his in-geniusness.

It never came.

A/N: The word count for this is 540. Damn. I expected so much more of this fic.

Don't ask where I got this idea. Because I have no clue.
