DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANY PART OF TAMORA PIERCE'S GREAT WORK
I was sitting on a bench right outside the tower once again enjoying the outside air of Midwinter. We came to the tower to take a break from the constant running out to war and so I could relax and get ready for the new baby. That's when I heard shuffling in the snow and turned to see who it was, Numair.
"What are you doing out here in the cold?" he asked as he walked up and sat next to me wrapping me up in his black robe.
"I'm just enjoying the fresh air." I answered "I've been locked up in that tower for so long I needed to get out and I wanted to see Cloud." It was true I did want to see Cloud but she was asleep and I wasn't going to bother her. "Numair you should really try and not worry so much, I'm fine."
"Can you blame me? I mean suddenly my wife, who I should say is pregnant, disappears; I'm going to worry." He remarked.
"Numair you have to learn to trust me. I took care of myself and cloud for a long time before we even met."
"That's true, Daine, but you also didn't have to worry about pregnancy. It's different now. Now that I'm here there's more than just one person to care for you."
I sighed, he had beaten me. "Fine, I'll come back in," I said defeated. As I started my trudge back to the tower I felt the ground disappear under my feet and strong arms holding me up.
"You should also try and not walk around so much, you could go into labor," he stated blatantly.
"Oh odds bobs Numair," I sighed.
