Sora and Riku were just friends. (That horrible little phrase 'just friends' it was despicable Sora thought). But still they held hands and night when it was dark, and didn't found it strange, something had changed between the two ever since, well ever since they had gone to the world of darkness and back together. Although he wouldn't say it, Riku need Sora to reassure him we was okay, and Sora needed Riku to be okay, so that he could be sure he was too. Thus it wasn't uncommon for the two to hold hands.

This particular day they were holding hand on the beach (of course it wasn't romantic or anything, their entire town was a beach), and Riku, attempting to regain their long lost mischievous rivalry, mused "lets try to thumb wrestle". The quickly discovered just how hard it was to be the victory of a thumb war when it takes place while holding hands, and of course after laughing hysterically for a minute of fighting, Riku figured it out, "ah ha, I win". Still laughing Sora, sighed "you always do"… "at everything, when we wrestle, when we fight, ya know its always you" he was still smiling, he'd pretty much accepted this as a fact of life. Riku smirked "it only because you suck, Sora, and I'm better then you". "FINE then I won't hold hands with you anymore" Sora blurted with a childish venom, and snatched his hand away, he almost stuck his tongue out too, but to his credit, didn't. "There is one thing you could always beat me at Sora" Riku replied, leaning closer to the indignant Sora. Softly he whispered "you'll always be the cutest". Riku wouldn't have had to be within in inches of Sora to see the blush spread across Sora's face. But even he didn't expect what would happen next, Sora looked up at Riku and something flashed in his eyes, and before Riku knew what had happened to him the was sand in his hair and he was on his back on the beach and looking at up Sora. "Sora you tricky scoundrel-" but Riku never finished that sentence, he was cut off my Sora's mouth on his. Sora finally won at wrestling that night.
