What's up, my peeps! Here's another Kataang oneshot for you guys, and it's about Toph! I can't really tell you anything else, you'll have to find out!
Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender. That would be a good birthday present though...
One more thing: I've seen other stories that are similar to this, so I wanted to do my own take on it!
Enjoy!

Toph may have been blind, but she definitely wasn't oblivious. She could feel the vibrations, the heartbeat, the breathing, she could read any human being like a book (even though she can't read books, but you know what I mean). So when ever Aang and Katara would lock eyes with one another, or compliment each other, heck just being within ten feet of one another would have the pulse of their hearts skyrocket.
It all started when she first joined the group. She was in charge of teaching the Avatar earthbending. Out of all the earthbenders in the world that Aang could've chosen, he chose her, which wasn't a big surprise, since she was one of the best earthbenders he had ever seen. At first, it was hard for everyone to adjust to Toph's abrasive personality, but they got used to it over time. So when they were setting up camp, or eating food, there would always be a time when Aang was just staring at Katara, and vice versa. Toph would suddenly notice a jolt in their heartbeats, but chose not to announce it since she wasn't that cruel.
Especially when Aang was earthbending, Katara would watch him like an eagle-hawk. And her heartbeat (as usual), would quicken up. And it was even worse when Aang was shirtless.
Then there came the time when Aang was shot with lightening by Azula, which was a horrible moment not just for his friends, but the whole world. They had thought that the Fire Nation had won. Out of all the people Aang knew, it hit Katara the hardest when the airbender was unconscious for weeks on end. She would just sit by his bedside, never leaving. The Blind Bandit every night would find Katara sleeping on the floor next to Aang's bed, and would have to call Hakoda to take her daughter back to her room. After a huge argument, Katara finally agreed to take some time away from Aang, but it was in a grudging manner.
The next significant time the famous earthbender remembered was... ah yes, who could forget this moment? That one party in the cave. The four of them were in disguises, to stay hidden until the Day of Black Sun. That gave Aang the chance to join a Fire Nation school, because of course he did. When Aang was dancing with a girl, Toph noticed Katara's breathing hitched, and her heart began to pump faster than a running cheetah-bear. Not even 15 minutes later, Aang asked the waterbender to dance with him. And Toph won't even begin to describe what kind of emotions were high during that dance.
The earthbender also remembered Katara's sudden increase in heartbeat, and heat in her face when Aang came back during the invasion to tell the bad news that the Capital City was deserted. All Toph could figure was something must've happened between them. Twinkletoes had to make a mood sometime.
Then came Ember Island, oh boy. Those two now wouldn't even stay 15 feet close to each other. Even though she couldn't feel the vibrations through the wood they were sitting on, she would bet a hundred gold pieces that Aang's heartbeat went up during that whole scene with Katara and Zuko, similar to the way Katara acted when Aang danced with that one girl in the cave. After the play, the two wouldn't look each other in the eye.
After the war ended, the world was at peace. Ba Sing Se was free, and the Firelord was taken down. After that, Katara and Aang's heartbeats were at it again, going faster and faster by the less space between them. There was the time when Sokka walked in on the benders kissing on the balcony, and when the two entered again, they're faces were hotter than a volcano.
A couple days later, Toph could feel that the couple was holding hands. The earthbender walked up to them.
Katara smiled. "What is it, Toph?"
The earthbender smirked, and gestured to their linked hands. "Just wanted to say I wasn't surprised."

The end! I don't write Toph that much, so I hope that she was in character, and this little oneshot made you guys smile :). Expect another chapter of Into the World coming up! See ya later, my peeps!
