Wanted (110 Word Hurdles)
When he was born, it seemed as if no one wanted him. His father didn't, for he didn't stay. His mother didn't, for she left him on the midwife's step. The people of Queensgrace village didn't. At least, they didn't want to be bothered with him except as a source of gossip. Or a story to tell themselves so they would feel better about their own ratty broods. Maybe auld Eulama wanted him. She certainly kept him. Whether that was the same as wanting, he couldn't be sure. But he had nothing to measure it against and at least she was nice enough to him, in her own haphazard way.
