Immunizations

Nick came into the house carrying a screaming Sloan in his car seat.

"Oh poor baby boy." Jackie cooed at the infant as she immediately took him out of the car seat and held him.

"Yeah, the poor little guy handles shots as well as his mother does, he's been bawling ever since." Nick told her.

"It's ok sweetheart." Jackie told the screaming infant, she felt terrible.

"I'm sorry daddy made you do that." She told the baby as she looked at Nick with a smile.

"What do you mean daddy made him do it? I got home from work this morning and you told me Sloan had a doctor's appointment to get his shots and you begged me to take him, I had nothing to do with this." Nick asked with a raised eyebrow.

Jackie just grinned at him.

"Baby Sone mad." Johnna said as all four of other kids came into the room to see what was wrong with the fussy baby.

"He's sad, he had to get shots today." Jackie told her.

"Baby Sone owie?" Johnna asked.

"Yeah." Jackie told her as she continued to gently rock the baby back and forth.

"It ok baby Sone." Johnna said lovingly as she kissed him on his head.

"Aw Johnna that is so nice, you are such an awesome big sister." Jackie praised.

Despite Johnna's loving efforts though, the baby kept crying.

"I have an idea, why don't you guys take turns shaking his rattle for him, he loves that." Jackie told the kids with a smile.

All the kids looked for the rattle.

"I think it's upstairs in his room." Jackie told them.

"Me get it." Jasmine said as she dashed upstairs.

She came back moments later with the rattle in her hand.

"Me do." Johnna said as she reached for the rattle.

"No me." Jasmine argued as she pulled the rattle away from her sister.

"Take turns, while one shakes the rattle the rest of you dance for baby Sloan, he likes it when you do that." Jackie told her girls so they would quit fighting.

Jasmine started shaking the rattle and the other four kids begin to goofily dance around.

Before long the baby's cries turned to giggles.

"Good job guys, look, he's not crying anymore." Jackie told them all.

The kids kept going until each of the kids had had a turn with the rattle.

Sloan loved their antics and by the time the kids were done dancing the baby appeared to forget all about his shots, much to Jackie's relief.

The End!
