Aliens have landed on planet Earth

Hi guys! Here is just a random bit of weirdness to brighten up your day. Hope you enjoy!

James stared at Lily, eyes narrowed.

"What?!" she asked looking up from her Potions essay.

He shook himself out of his daze. "Uh- nothing."

"James Potter don't you dare say nothing! This is the sixth time I have looked up and every time I do you are staring at me!"

"Um… how bout you just finish that potions essay?"

"James, your attempts at changing the subject are not working. Tell me now." Lily said looking sternly at him.

James gave a sheepish smile, "You know Lily you are really beautiful." He said cheekily.

Lily sighed, exasperated. "James Potter you are so, so-"

"Handsome?" he interrupted.

Lily frowned at him. "No. And don't interrupt me!" she said going back to her work. She soon finished and settled down reading a book.

"James I can feel you looking at me." Lily said her eyes still focused on her book.

James mouth dropped open then he chuckled nervously. "Would you care to explain?" she continued.

"Lily?"

"What is it this time?!"

"Um- Lily what do you think aliens look like?" he asked her.

She stopped reading and looked at him. "Seriously! Why don't you go to the library and find out?" she told her boyfriend.

There was an awkward cough. "I take that as a no. Am I correct?" she asked looking at him again. He nodded.

"Yeah…" James grinned at her.

She sighed. "Fine. I suppose they are small and green. I don't know!" she exclaimed.

"Would they be, by any chance, an olive green colour?" he asked her.

"Honestly James! I can't understand your sudden obsession with aliens but yes, they are olive green." Lily answered looking at him suspiciously.

"Well in that case… Lily there is an alien in your hair." James said looking pointedly at her hair.

Lily's mouth dropped open. "What? James if this is another one of your tricks it isn't funny!" she said becoming slightly angry.

"Calm down. I did not put it there. I only thought it looked like an alien. See?" he said coming over and plucking a small thing from Lily's hair.

He showed it to her and she burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" he asked feeling as if he had been left out on a joke.

"That!" Lily said pointing to the 'alien'. "Is a leaf. A leaf James a leaf! How did you mistake a leaf for an alien?!" she gasped out, still laughing.

"Hey! I honestly thought it was an alien!" James protested.

"Well it's not." Lily stated returning to her book.

"Oh." James said squinting at the leaf. "You know it still looks like an alien to me." He finally announced.

Lily sighed. "Sometimes I can't believe I ever agreed to be your girlfriend."

James just grinned at her in return.
