A little Yusei-centric drabble.
POV is unkown. Even though I wrote first-person I didn't really imagine anyone certain, so feel free to read it from whoevers POV you like.
Perhaps it's Aki...
Pretending
It was late at night and originally I was supposed to be at home, but something had kept me up.
Something had made me walk around in the city of Neo Domino.
I wasn't the type to go and celebrate parties, but I kinda liked the illuminated city at night.
The way it seemed to just come to life, when the sun had set at a Saturday-evening.
Suddenly the people seemed to leave behind their plain lives and the shops, restaurants and bars filled. Everywhere was music and noises and life.
But now I kept walking away from the noises, the humming of the living city, towards the dark water, which was the line, the border between Neo Domino and Satellite.
I don't know, why I walked there that night.
It was just a feeling, intuition.
And even though it would've been much more likely not to find anyone there, I wasn't surprised, to see the shadow of someone sitting on the edge of the roof of an old, wracked house, looking over the ocean towards Satellite.
I was at the ground, he was above, but Yusei didn't notice me.
He didn't seem to notice anything.
The light of the moon, that shone on the water was reflected by his empty eyes.
He just sat there, motionless, deep in thoughts, probably of the friends who he had to leave behind.
He looks lost, occurred to me while watching him.
Yusei was always strong, always cool. He never seemed to doubt anything he does. He hid his feelings almost perfectly.
He wasn't the type to be lost.
But at this moment, as he watched Satellite hid behind the dark ocean, he looked completely lost.
Lost within the city, lost within society, lost within himself.
Okay, that's it. I know it's a strange end but if I wrote any further I'd definitely ruin the atmosphere, so I rather leave it be.
I intend to use this as part of an graduation relevant essay about fanfictions so I'd be nice if you told me your opinion and most important if there any mistakes.
