Dressed as a roman soldier and holding a banjo, Chef Hatchet starts to play a musical scale.
—I know what you're thinking… I'm thinking it too!—sings Duncan, popping out from a column.
—I'm not sure what you're thinking, so maybe that's true!—replies Gwen, also singing and popping out from a column next to Duncan.
—I don't know what happened, but I have no regrets.
—For real? Or because you-know-who doesn't know yet?
Chef starts to chord and muffle them, while Alejandro watches them from behind a far column and Duncan continues:
—Oh, it's just between us!
—Not exactly, someone made a fuss.
—They sure weren't meant to see—both stopping in front of a stone statue of Tyler struggling to hold a giant ball—, but that lock door couldn't secure our privacy—complains the punk, as Alejandro still watches them.
Chef now plays another scale as Duncan and Gwen move forward and find a tip-toed Courtney stone statue. The banjo now sounds slow-paced tempo chords.
—Fine, let's do it! Let's clean the air!—concludes him.
—Save it for later, look out for that bear!—exclaims the goth, pointing. He looks behind and sees a big bear with a golden medal hanged on the neck. There's no time for panicking: when the animal tries to hack with it's claws, the antihero blocks the first two blows and jumps backward to avoid the third one, landing beside Gwen.
—Bravo, Duncan!—Courtney cheers, clapping.
—Almost got me! That would be lame!—Duncan still sing.
—Let's team up and fight for the gold!—Gwen suggests, following the song along.
At this point, the other competitors are watching. The bear attacks Duncan and Gwen and they glance smirking to each other, forming a no-word plan. They understand one another very well.
Chef Hatchet plays several scales and solos as the punk and the gothic do strategy to knock out the beast and take the medal, from direct attacks (which are almost suicide) to distractions, which leave the others jaw-dropped seeing the "chemistry" used by them in the challenge. If Duncan and Gwen have been pit against each other on the Greco-Roman fight, would've been one of the best matches in Total Drama history.
The animal, angrier than before, rushes to attack, making the others hold their breath and wide their eyes. Just Alejandro got what they're up to, and they do: in the last second, the two leap in different directions and the bear collides into a column, getting dizzy.
—Time for the finishing blow!—sing them. She runs and he helps her do a high jump. The gothic front flips and hits the beast's muzzle with a strong heel, making it move backward and groan in pain. Next comes the antihero: also helped, he jumps and strikes the animal with his specialty: the hammer-like punch (in which he clenches his fists together), right on the head. The ground shakes a bit when the bear falls unconscious.
The two approach the fainted animal and, together, claim the gold medal, both wearing it. With their arms onto each other shoulders, Duncan and Gwen move toward the others, under applause.
—Since when you know to do that?—inquires Courtney, irritated, her hands on her waist.
—It was an amazing display!—admits Chris, chuckling. —Our audience gone to high levels now!
—Your fans must've squealed!—Sierra says.
Everyone begins to walk towards the next task site, with Duncan and Gwen under Courtney's piercing glare. Alejandro approaches them and comments:
—Interesting song. Someone was very naughty.
