Drunken Disappointment

Jamie was surprised to find Jack slumped over his desk and even more surprised to see the empty bottle resting on the desktop. She didn't have to guess what this was about. One year to the day at the DA's office

"Oh Jack," she said. She went to get his coat and reached into the pocket finding keys and a wallet. His address? She opened the wallet, looking for the license. She saw a photo. What was haunting Jack; dark eyes, dark hair.

"Claire?" Jack's voice was heavy.

"She's gone Jack," Jamie said, wishing for his sake that she wasn't.
