Little Night Owl

Gothic: I have strange habits…….It's either that or I have some strange family traits. As the title says, I am a little night owl, normally awake most of the night, sleeping around 2 hours a night, and even that's at about 3.00am to 5.00am…..

Gothic: That was Kitty, my muse on the disclaimer, and this poem is based on my sleeping habits, but represents Raven's fears and inner emotions, therefore showing that she is unable to sleep because of such feelings. And I thought I had it bad…

Little Night Owl

It's 3 in the morning again.

And I'm lying here, awake.

I wish, I could sleep.

How long is this, going to take?

And if I could sleep, I would.

But I'm awake, wonderin' if I could.

I'm just a Little Night Owl.

And when the weather, is fowl.

I'm lying in my bed,

Pictures dancing before my head.

I can't sleep.

So I'll, time keep.

I'm tossing and turning.

Hot, and then cold.

My eyes are stinging and burning,

But I just can't let them shut.

And If I could sleep, I would.

But I'm awake, wonderin' if I could.

I'm just a Little Night Owl.

And when the weather, is fowl.

I'm lying in my bed,

Pictures dancing before my head.

I can't sleep.

So I'll, time keep,

And I'm constantly, out of bed.

So I'll write, and I'll read.

With covers over my head.

Well, there's nothing really better to do.

And If I could sleep, I would.

But I'm awake, wonderin' if I could.

I'm just a Little Night Owl.

And when the weather, is fowl.

I'm lying in my bed,

Pictures dancing before my head,

I can't sleep,

So I'll time keep.

And I will watch, the sunrise.

Through the clear glass, of the window.

With bleary, blinking eyes.

Many yawns, but not really tired.

And if I could sleep, I would.

But I'm awake, wonderin' if I could.

I'm just a Little Night Owl.

Gothic: Just in case you're wondering what I mean by the phrase 'I'll time keep,' it means that as I can't sleep, I'm keeping an eye on the time, checking my watch every so often. And the 2nd verse speaks of when I write poems like this under my duvet with a book pencil and torch at night. Oh and pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease review!
