Dick Grayson ran down the stairs that led to the Wayne mansion foyer.

"Careful, Master Dick" Alfred said. "What is so important that you have to run to the foyer?"

Dick smiled. "Barbara coming over. She should be here soon."

"Ah" Alfred said.

Bruce joined them in the foyer.

"Did you mention Barbara?" he asked.

Dick nodded.

"What are you two going to do?" Bruce asked.

"I thought we would hang out in my room" Dick said, blushing.

"Oh really?" Bruce said, raising an eyebrow.

Dick blushed. "We're just gonna talk."

"Yeah, for like, ten minutes" Bruce said.

Dick's blush deepened.

There was a knock on the door. Dick straightened. "That's her." He sprinted to the door and opened it.

"Hey" Barbara Gordon greeted him.

"Hey" Dick said. "Let's go up to my room."

Three hours later, Commissioner James Gordon arrived to pick up Barbara. He knocked on the door and was greeted by Bruce Wayne.

"I'm here for my daughter" he said.

His eyes fell on the commissioner's gun. The commissioner followed his gaze. "I want to make sure Dick can see it."

Bruce smiled. "Right this way, Commissioner" he said. "They're in Dick's room."

"Oh God" James said. "I don't want to think about what they've been doing."

Bruce rapped lightly on Dick's door.

No answer.

He opened the door. Dick was wide awake and had his arms wrapped a sleeping Barbara Gordon.

"Oh, hi Commissioner" Dick said softly, his eyes still on Barbara.

"What happened?" Bruce asked.

"We talked for like, ten minutes" Dick said.

"What did you do after you talked?" James asked.

Dick didn't respond.

Bruce chuckled and the commissioner's frown deepened.

Dick sill hadn't taken his eyes off Barbara. He pushed some of her red hair out of her face.

"She's beautiful" he said simply.

"I know" James said. "Wake her up. We need to leave."

Dick shook her gently. "Wake up, Barb" he said softly.

She emitted a small moan. "Do I have to?" she whispered.

"Sadly, you have to" he said.

Barbara pushed herself off Dick.

They all walked outside, Dick and Barbara holding hands.

They hugged when they reached the Gordons' car. As he watched her climb into the car, he smiled. This was the girl he had liked since he was eleven. Now he was dating her three years later. This sweet, beautiful, gentle, loving girl was his.

"Uh, Barbara" he said.

She popped her head out of the car window. "Yes?"

"I- I love you" he said.

She smiled. "I love you, too."

Dick leaned in the car window and Barbara kissed him on the cheek. Dick pulled his head out and waved as the love of his life drove away.
