I own nothing! Not so Happy Ending: Paths That Wind and Separate
Quiet. The four stare at each other, words unspoken, looks saying everything.
The only female of the group, a pink-headed, green-eyed, young girl of seventeen stands awakwardly. She shifts, not wanting to let go of her boys, her team, her everything(s). She shifts her feet once more, looking back at the gate she stands under.
"I guess I'll see you later, then," She whispers softly, catching the attention of her fellow teammates. She is Sakura Haruno.
Two have black hair and black eyes. They are Sasuke Uchiha and Sai. Sai is a former ANBU root member, someone who doesn't even know what emotions are anymore. He's a painter, and insults people when trying to compliment them.
Sasuke Uchiha is the last Uchiha, the survivor of the Uchiha massacre. He is a man of little words, a prodigy, a cruel, mysterious heartthrob. He left the village when he was twelve or thirteen; Sakura can't remember anymore, she's blocked it all out. He went to Oroichmaru and had his world turned upside down by deceiving plots and lies.
The last was a blond-haired, blue-eyed male. He was Naruto Uzumaki, the future Hokage, the Kyuubi vessel, the past orphan. He was not an orphan anymore; he had Sai, Sakura, and Sasuke.
'Bye, Hag."
"Bye Sakura-chan!"
"Hnn."
And she watches as they turn their backs on her, and head down three separate paths. Her heart soars for them, knowing in two months' time she will, too, pack up and leave. She, however, will not come back. She has been assigned a lifelong mission in Waves, and so she turns her back on the Leaf Village, on Kakashi-sensei, on Ino-pig, on Lady Tsunade, on Sai, on Naruto-kun, on Sasuke-kun.
And so will wind her life accordingly.
"Good-bye," She whispers quietly. She knows they can't hear her but a part of her, somewhere, deep inside, aches for them to turn back and wave one last time.
The wave never comes. Sakura steps back, and the gates close. She blinks tears from her eyes.
Grow up to be even greater then you already are, guys.
