Short pointless oneshot featuring my favorite couple. I'm not saying they have to be your favorite, but if they're not that says something about you, doesn't it? There, I said it.

My First Favorite Night

I sit up, glancing at my watch. Is it seriously 3:30 AM? I squint out the window. Rain is pounding on the glass. It amazes me that anyone can sleep with this racket. There's a huge crack of thunder and Neville lets out a pathetic whimper. I chuckle quietly to myself, though the storm is so loud I could probably go ahead and scream at the top of my lungs. Who'd notice?

Speaking of screaming, Harry is obviously having one of his frequent nightmares. There is no way I'm getting back to sleep tonight. I lean back down on my pillow and rest my head on my hands. I could always finish one of my half-written essays. They're all due today. Hermione'll kill me. I told her I finished them day before yesterday.

Thinking of Hermione angry, I drift into a pleasantly familiar day dream. I have lots of material to keep this in my head. Right before I can really get into it, the door flies open and standing there terrified is the star of my fantasy.

"Ron?" she whispers, inching towards my bed. I situate myself as best I can and sit up.

"You okay, Hermione?" She really picked a bad time to show up at my bed. Well, any time would have been a bad time. I try my best to hide my little (well hopefully, not that little) problem.

"Ron? I can't sleep. The storm keeps getting louder."

"You've never just shown up in our dorm in the middle of the night before, 'Mione. Sure it's just the storm?" I wiggle my eyebrows suggestively.

"Yes...no...of course it's just the storm, Ronald. It's terrifying."

"Hermione, you're 16 years old."

"I'm aware of that, Ronald. Scoot over, won't you?"

I scoot over. She jumps in, pulls my blanket over us and puts my arm around her. It's a tight fit but I for one don't mind. I'm sure my ears are lighting up the entire dormitory.

"That's better," she grumbles. She's asleep before I can reply. I don't want to disturb her so I use my wand to pull the curtain shut. I smile to myself and position myself in the most comfortable way possible. There is no way I'm getting back to sleep tonight.
