It had been too long for anyone too remember. Days, months even years could have passed but yet it all seemed like yesterday. Since they had to say goodbye to it all. To the city, the mall, their home. All that was left was their memories. But yet considering it all The Mall Rats were just a strong as ever.

They lived in hope that one day the would find a new place that felt like home again, and maybe just maybe that one day they would find their missing friends. But right now all that, could only be in the Mall Rats dreams.

Chapter 1 : Keeping with Pride

" Ah land once again" said a very moody and seasick May. "Maybe we will stay for good this time!"

"May stop complaining you know we had no choice!" Replied Salene.

This wasn't the first land they had found since leaving the city. There had been other Islands but no place for a new future. They found very little food or in some cases no food at all. They couldn't find a place to set up shelter, in fact the only shelter they really had was their little boat.

You see the Mall Rats were city kids, they may of survived whatever had been thrown at them since the virus struck, but that was in the city not the middle of no where. It often went through the Mall Rats minds that maybe if Pride was still here that it would be different. But no one ever said it, no one wanted to upset Salene.

Salene was still mourning for her beloved Pride and as the days went on she missed him even more. Being out in the open reminded her so much of him. She knew he would have loved it. And as much as it hurt she still felt at ease. Being out in the open was a constant reminder but she felt like she still had a part of him with her. She knew she had to stay strong, she knew she had to survive. She owed it too Pride.

The Mall Rats didn't have Pride but at least they had Amber, she was always the one to get them through the tough times. She'd learnt a lot from living with Pride and the eco tribe and so had Trudy. In fact nearly all the Mall Rats had learnt something in the past from Pride but even at that, they were still out their comfort zone. They were nothing on what Pride had been and they all knew it. They may not of had their friend but they still had the rest of the tribe. That was one of the main reasons why they still kept strong. They were still Mall Rats after all, mall or no mall. Mall Rats always survive!

"Sal I'm sorry. I just want to find somewhere to call home"

"May it's ok, I understand. Well maybe this time it will be."

They all scrambled off the boat each wanting to feel what ground and freedom felt like again. This time it had to work, they knew that they couldn't keep getting back on the boat. If they did, maybe they wouldn't find land again and what then? The Island was beautiful, not like the previous ones. It was much bigger and in the distance it was green as far as they could see. It was already beginning to feel like home, like they were meant to end up there. But what the Mall Rats didn't know that they were meant to be there, that this was their destiny, their future. Where the legacy of the Mall Rats would live on.
