Eleanora's Sorrow
Lady Eleanora awoke from her sleep and the harsh reality that dawn brought was overwhelming. Her happiness was only but a dream. Flashes of memories she held dear played in her dreams. Elbert was alive and teaching young Eliwood swordplay, Elbert laughing on their wedding night and the gentle kisses they shared, Eliwood's excited face when receiving his first sword, the many meals they shared together as a family, waking up to Elbert in the morning. The last was too hard to bear. She ran her hand along the other side of the bed and knew he would never be there again.
"Oh Elbert, ….why?" She held herself tight.
She was tired of hurting, tired of loneliness, and tired of staying strong. The only time she felt complete was in sleep and even that was too short-lived. No matter how hard it was she had not shed a tear and would not until Eliwood was home. She mustn't give into despair as long as Eliwood still lived. She believed he could finish what Elbert started. Isadora had gone with her message and her love. Hope was all she had now.
"Come home to me, my brave son."
