Heroes: Fate.

The end of days...

Mohinder's voice:

Our lives affect one another. We are all entwined.

But is this connection random?

Maybe we are all in fact connected by a shared destiny; a carefully crafted design by a higher power. Perhaps sometimes, there is in fact a set, end point that is inescapable. Unavoidable. Fated.

[The Petrelli household. Peter enters, followed by his mother, Angela Petrelli.]

Angela: ... it's been weeks. You're brother has missed you. He loves you, and I know you love him -

Peter: missed me? Loves me? After trying to kill me, after siding with our villain of a father, you expect me to accept that he's sorry? [He shakes his head before uttering] he's gone too far this time. Sometimes sorry isn't enough...

[Nathan appears from the doorway]

Peter: [glares at his mother] I might have known...

Angela: Peter...

Peter: I should've guessed that you'd interfere

Angela: do you know what's at stake if I don't?

Nathan: [walking towards Peter] Peter, this has got to stop.

Peter: Nathan, I don't wanna talk to you [turns to leave]

Nathan: Pete...

Peter: I'm serious, Nathan. Do you have any idea of the destruction you nearly caused?

Nathan: I know that but -

Peter: no, Nathan. You've gone too far this time – I don't ever want to -

Nathan [shakes his head] no. No Pete don't say that [Peter is defiant and angry] please. Look, I think we've both said things we don't mean -

Peter: did we?

[a beat]

Peter: [goes to leave] I have to be at the hospital. I'm gonna be late. [he leaves]

Angela: go after him!

Nathan: didn't you hear what he said [he looks down, before looking at his mother] He hates me ... maybe I deserve it.

Angela: [orders] stop feeling so sorry for yourself and go after him!

Nathan: I'll catch up with him when he's calmed down [sighs] there's no way he's gonna speak to me now...

Angela: [stares into the distance] we're running out of time...

Nathan: what?

Angela: [a sudden outburst] you have do something - before it's too late!

Nathan: too late for what?

[Angela doesn't answer]

Nathan: too late for what ma?

[Angela sits down, at the dining table, rubbing her temples]

Nathan: Ma?

Angela: nothing

Nathan: don't try to lie. If these past few years have taught us anything, it's that honesty really is the best policy

Angela: [sighs, sounding almost defeated] I've been having dreams...

[Nathan sits in the chair opposite, looking curious]

Angela: [looks Nathan square in the eye] you and Peter have got to make up. You have to protect him.

Nathan: [he looks right back] ma, what happened in your dreams?

Angela: the content isn't important...

Nathan: that's not what it sounds like. What did you see?

Angela: I saw death. [Nathan frowns] I saw the end of days.

[End scene]
