(Ferb's P.O.V.)

"Hey, Ferb!" my step-brother Phineas called to me from downstairs. "Hurry up! We don't wanna be late!"

Nodding to myself, I jumped up from my bed, and out of the room. I spotted Phineas waiting for me at the bottom of the staircase.

"C'mon!" He told me and dashed out of the house.

Phineas always got very excited during the annual Danville fireworks show, and he never missed it. I think it's the explosions…

I dashed down the stairs and to the front door. I turned off the lights and pulled the front door shut, and joined everyone else in our family's station wagon.

"Okay, is everybody ready?" my dad asked.

A few of our friends replied yes, and he pulled out. I overheard our mother reminding Dad that Americans drive on the right side.

----------------------------------------------------------------

We arrived at the Danville Park in time for the show, and we picked a spot to watch.

As we all sat down, I took a seat next to Gretchen, the Fireside Girl.

We watched the sky bombs show their colors and shapes. Reds, Blues, Greens, Yellows. Circles, Stars, Hearts. They were spectacular.

As we watched, I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a girl walk past me.

She was older than me, about Candace's age, maybe a tad older. She wore all black clothes and had long, brown hair.

She was holding the hand of a boy her age, which made my heart slightly ache.

I've had a crush on this girl, ever since the day our friend Isabella got her tonsillectomy, and I don't even know her first name. Her last name is 'Doofenshmirtz', and that's all I knew. But just recently, I had a reality check, and knew it wouldn't work, so I've felt a little sad inside…

I sighed quietly to myself.

"What's wrong, Ferb?"

I turned and Gretchen had turned to me, her blue eyes showing concern.

"Oh, well, I'm just feeling a little down right now…" I told her.

"Why? What's wrong?" she asked me.

A red firework lit up the side of her face. I paused, then answered her.

"Well, uhh… I used to like this one girl, but, uh… I then realized it wouldn't work," I said to her.

Gretchen frowned.

"I'm sure other people go through similar stuff," she told me.

I nodded.

"You're right," I replied.

She placed her hand on mine, and smiled reassuringly.

"Just try not to think about it. I'm sure you'll find the girl for you."

I smiled, and nodded again.

"Thanks."

She removed her hand from mine, and our attention was returned to the explosions high in the air.

I knew, from that moment on, that there was a girl just for me in this world.

How did I know?

Because I just found her.
