This is the first chapter in a story being written by TrueHighSchoolMusicalFan and me. This first chapter was written by me.
Note: This is my first ever story.
The rain had just begun to let up when Jess and Leslie made it to the tree house. They took seats on the floor. They sat for a few minutes in an awkward silence before jess spoke.
"So..." He said. "School starts soon."
"Yeah. The summer went by so fast this year." Leslie said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"I was thinking next week we could go see a movie or something. It'll be fun to do something other then hang out here before school starts." Jess replied. He liked hanging out with her in Terabithia, but he felt that it can get boring if thats all they ever do.
"Oh. I'm sorry Jess but I made plans with my dad." Jess rolled his eyes.
"Of course..." Jess replied.
"What do you mean 'of course'?" Leslie was confused. Did she say something wrong?
"What I mean is that you been hanging out with your dad more then you have your best friend!"
"Well he is my dad!" Both friends were now standing.
"And I'm your best friend!" Jess was now yelling.
"Stop being selfish!"
"I'm not the selfish one." Jess said bitterly. This was the last straw for Leslie. She turned to leave the tree house. Just as she got to the edge, she slipped on a slippery spot, and fell to the ground.
