Dear Father,
I can only imagine what the conditions are like for you in Azkaban, Yet I hate to say I told you so. I warned you this might happen, why did you do it? You were so close to the Minister, now you have lost your cover. The Ministry has exposed your lies Dad; there is nowhere to hide.
The Dark Lord is angry with you, I urged people to let you know of his annoyance at you and it seems they have not. They are scared of him, but what is wrong with letting somebody know that their master. Well he is Dad, and the thing I need to say to you is that do not expect to be getting out of Azkaban soon. The Dark Lord has not even mentioned getting the prisoners out, as he is so annoyed after the fiasco at the ministry.
I must tell you though, that the Dark Lord has given me a mission and it is to kill Dumbledore. I am terrified and I wish you were with me, so I can rely on you to help me out. Professor Snape has offered, though I don't know whether to trust him; Aunt Bellatrix just says ignore him and get on with it.
Dad, I know this sounds weak and you always promised me that I could tell you anything, but I don't think I could bring myself to do it. He deserves it I know, but won't my soul be ripped apart?
Mum thinks it is revenge, for you going to Azkaban and not getting some prophecy. She has confessed this to me, and I am hoping she is mistaken. I like to think that the Dark Lord is just giving me a chance to prove myself, but the way he treats me, I think mum is right. I feel I am too young to follow his orders, he talks about spells most of the time and I have no clue what he is talking about, as I have never heard of them nor do I know what they achieve, when they are cast properly.
I wish you were with me! Why do we do this? Why do we serve the Dark Lord? It is dangerous. So tell me why do we do it. I cannot cope. Everytime I see him he frightens me even more, One minute he can be almost pleasant and the next he will just get angry and throwing curses.
I am praying for you to get out of Azkaban. Now I know how much I need you!
