Taking prompt ideas from here and tumblr ( .com). The prompt this time was Cat in Sam's jacket. It's pretty short! Love to hear from any of you, thanks in advance and please pass along a prompt idea!:)
While Cat normally wasn't one to start an adventure she was always up for one. This was one of those rare instances where she was, in fact, the instigator. Cat had convinced her best friend that it was was absolutely necessary to go to the town carnival. It wasn't Sam's thing but all Cat had to do was bat those big brown eyes and they were there.
The evening had come to end (not without Sam winning Cat that purple unicorn though, after about 17 tries at the ring toss), and the two were on their way back to their apartment. They had walked since it wasn't far and parking just wasn't worth the hassle.
"Those corndogs were literally the best I've ever had," Sam chimed, just finishing the last of maybe her 4th corndog (Cat had lost count).
"You say that about everything you eat," Cat giggled.
"I can't help it, I really have a deep love for food!"
"But you love me more?"
"It's a close one,"
Cat shook her head and smiled. Things were pretty perfect. Well, almost. The night was unusually cold for southern California, and Cat was of course unprepared. She couldn't keep her teeth from chattering as she hugged herself, trying to keep herself warm until they could get back to the warm apartment.
"You okay kid?" Sam asked, obviously taking notice of Cat's behavior.
"What? Yeah of course! Today was the best!" Cat eagerly replied, taking a few steps ahead of Sam and walking faster in an effort to get back home sooner.
Not even a few seconds later Cat was met with a warm leather jacket draped over her head. Cat pulled it off, and turned back to look at her blonde companion, now in a simple t-shirt.
"I'm not wearing your jacket, it's cold." Cat said, trying to give the jacket back to her friend. It felt so warm and tempting, but it was Sam's jacket, she wasn't going to take it.
"It's cool, plus it just makes me more badass," Sam quipped, pushing the jacket back toward Cat and walking in front of her signaling the conversation was done.
Cat smiled and slipped the jacket on. Warm from Sam's body heat, it was the perfect remedy for the chilly night.
"Wait for me!" Cat exclaimed, running to catch up with Sam. The sooner they got home, the sooner they could get into Sam's warm bed, which was possibly the only thing better than the warm jacket.
