Where has the time gone? On this day in 1966 one of the greatest shows was created. It was created by a man named Gene Roddenberry and because of him we were able to meet the Captain, his First Officer, the Helmsman, the Navigator, the Communications Officer, the Doctor, the Nurse, and the Engineer. They took us through some great adventures. They taught us many life lessons. They were a family. They are Family. Each was different in their own way just like the audience watching them. It didn't matter which show you started with or who introduced you to the franchise we all became part of that family. 50 years is a long time, an impressive amount of time, but we made it and we're here and we're not going anywhere. So it doesn't matter if you consider yourself a Trekkie or a Trekker, whether you like the original series, the next generation, or the reboot movies, whether you've been a fan for years or are just starting out welcome to the family.
