Kurt was in his room packing the last of his things in anticipation for his trip home for the holidays, when he heard a gentle knock on the door.
"Come in," he yelled, and he saw the door slowly open and a mop of brown hair peep through the gap. The hair, he recognised instantly, belonged to one Blaine D'Arcy.
"Hey Kurt," he said with a grin and Kurt saw he was carrying two mugs in his hand.
"Hi Blaine. Oh here, let me help with you with those." As he walked over and took one of the mugs off the older boy and placed it carefully on a coaster on his desk, careful not to let any of the whipped cream on top spill over.
"How did you manage to knock and open the door with no arms free?" Kurt said with a quizzed look on his face.
"Elbows." Blaine replied with a shrug and Kurt nodded knowingly.
"One of them is for you, to say thank you."
"Thanks for what?"
"For rehearsing with me the other day. The show last night went really well and the producers said they were interested if I could be a part of the spring show."
"Congratulations! That's wonderful news"
"I personally think it was down to wonderful rehearsing partner," Blaine replied with a wink, which made Kurt blush. He walked over to the desk and picked up both mugs. He handed one to Kurt, who was sitting on the bed and sat down beside him.
"Are those marshmallows?" Kurt exclaimed, followed with a giggle.
"Yup, hot chocolate just isn't the same without whipped cream and tiny marshmallows."
"Mmm, this is really good."
"I know." Blaine swiftly replied, which caused Kurt to giggle again.
"I've been told before that the best thing about Christmas, is my 'Blaine's Awesome Hot Chocolte'" he smiled.
The two boys laughed and chatted over their 'Awesome' hot chocolate before Blaine realised he was getting late and he had to get back to his room.
Before leaving, he gave Kurt a hug at the door and the boys wished each other 'Happy Holidays'
"Oh and one last thing before we go," Blaine said as he reached into his pocket. He then pulled out a sprig of mistletoe and held it above the two boy's heads.
"Care to humour me in an old tradition?" Blaine asked, with a sly grin.
"I suppose I can't say no, can I?" Kurt replied, turning redder with every syllable.
Blaine leaned in for a short, sweet kiss, careful not to overstep his boundaries and to keep it as friendly as he could muster. When their lips parted, they both said goodbye and Kurt stepped back into his room. With a big grin on his face he continued packing and thought to himself; 'Next year is going to be a good one.'
