Like a Boy

"What if we could switch the roles? What if I could be the boy in the relationship and treat you the way that you treat me?" she yelled in his face. "What if I was you and you were me? What if I did everything you do to me, to you? How would you feel then huh? Would you like it?"
He couldn't answer, he was left speechless. She had a very valid point. He did treat her like dirt. He never made an attempt to care about how she felt every time he ran off to see Kikyou. And now she's bringing all of it to the light. She's showing him how hurt she really was by his actions.
"Kagome, I'm sorry," the hanyou said looking up at the young miko. "I didn't know you felt that way."
"How could you not know, InuYasha?" Kagome said taking a seat beside him on the grassy surface. "All the signs were right there in your face. It was completely obvious."
InuYasha felt completely guilty. He knew his visits with Kikyou hurt Kagome but he didn't know that they hurt her to this point.
"Kago-" he started then stopped pressing his lips together in a thin line. He couldn't even form words.
"I know you're sorry InuYasha," Kagome said looking over at him. A soft smile spread across her prestige. "And I forgive you."
She placed one of her small hands on top of his.
"And I'm sorry for yelling at you," she continued. "It was just one of those moments where I needed to vent my anger. If I made you feel bad, I really didn't mean to."
She gave his hand a light squeeze then leaned over on his shoulder. InuYasha let his head rest on top of hers.
"From now on, things are going to be different." he thought looking down at the young woman resting on his shoulder. "I'm gonna treat Kagome the way I'm supposed to."
A quick little one-shot that I wrote up in like ten minutes. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
