I didn't do their spelling quirks. I feel that they (especially Mituna's lol) would have taken away from what is supposed to be a serious/sweet story.

Skateboarding

Latula and Mituna stood in a recreational lawn ring that used to be on Beforus. Both had skateboards in their hands, except Mituna kept fidgeting and dropping his. He dropped the skateboard for the fourth time, the board clattering on the cemented walkway. He didn't move to pick it up.

He nudged the skateboard forward with the toe of his boot. He couldn't possibly ride this thing! He had enough trouble standing up on his own two feet!

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK!" Mituna shouted. He kicked the skateboard away from him. "Stupid skateboard, I can't even hold the damn thing!"

"Calm down there, MT!" Latula wrapped her free arm around one of Mituna's. "You haven't even tried yet."

Mituna stared at her. Though he couldn't see her eyes she was giving him one of her big toothy smiles. She squeezed his arm encouragingly.

"I guess I can give it a shot." Latula let him go excitedly and watched him mount the board.

At first, he was fine and balanced. Then he started to get nervous and jittery and began to move back and forth, making the board rock along with him and jerk left to right. Latula steadied him before he fell and hurt himself (again). Mituna cursed loudly and pushed her away. As steady as he could make himself be, he pushed himself forward and rode down the cemented walkway with moderate success. Confidence welled in his chest and he grinned, laughing. Behind him Latula was cheering him on that she knew he could do it.

A turn came along. Mituna tried to shift his weight to the sight but his jitteriness made him shift too far and too fast. The skateboard tilted and got caught on a raised portion, launching Mituna off. Mituna gasped as he hit the ground, skidding and then stopping. He cried out, his hands and knees burning from where the skin was scraped. Latula came running over and dropped to her knees. She helped him sit up and dusted off the dirt and grass from him.

"Oh my gog, are you okay!?" Latula and checked him for serious injuries.

Mituna didn't say anything. He stared at the ground intently.

"…Mituna?"

"I'm sorry." He mumbled. He pulled up grass idly.

"Oh MT, you did your best." Latula hugged him close and stroked his back. "We can try again some other time again? I'll show you how to make those turns."

"I'm sorry," He repeated. He pressed his face against her shoulder. "I'm never going to be as rad as you, Latula."

Latula gave him a strong squeeze. She knew how insecure MT was about what he was able and wasn't able to do since his accident. He needed her for practically everything, including simple everyday tasks – and right now, he needed her to make him feel better.

"Don't say that, Mituna," She said softly and kissed his visor softly. "You're the raddest dude I know."
