SPOILERS FOR THE INFINITY WAR TRAILERS AND DISCUSSIONS

I don't own anything.

This is not to be taken seriously. I was just getting 'a bit' done with all the people saying all the terrible things that may happen to Loki in the Infinity War (let's treat them as Voldemort and not speak their name) and so I decided to write a little fairy tale of how it could go in an ideal situation.

Enjoy and long live the God of Mischief.

Once upon a time, there was a God of Mischief whose name was Loki.

His life has been exceptionally difficult and full of hardships. He spent his childhood and youth living in his brother's shadow. When he finally decided to do something about it, albeit admittedly not the best thing, it led him to the Void where he suffered horrors at the hands of Thanos.

The horrors were so terrible that everyone refused to tell their story.

When Loki appeared again, his brother found him to be a prisoner of a group of Midgardians. The first thing that his brother, the Mighty Thor, told him concerned the Tesseract, as if Loki hadn't been missing from his life at all.

Loki's already hardened heart closed even more. Every injustice, he avenged much more than was appropriate and soon, he became the enemy of all the Nine Realms. Everybody hated him.

The more they hated him, the eviller he got.

The more they despised him, the more he would present himself as the monster they thought he was.

The monster he thought he was.

And then they defeated him.

His brother brought him back home where his father, after stating that he should have died as a child, sentenced him to eternity in the dungeons.

Loki did get out, after his brother promised to kill him should he try to betray him.

After faking his own death – that may have been nasty – he ruled Asgard as their king. He left his father on Midgard in the house for the elderly.

When his brother discovered his disguise, Loki helped him defeat the evil goddess of death Hela.

Finally, Loki has reached some reconciliation with Thor.

Yet when it seemed that the brothers would get the well-deserved piece of peace and happiness, Thanos' ship appeared in front of them.

Yes, the Thanos whose treatment of Loki had been so bad that no one even dared to tell the story.

Loki recognised the spaceship and urged Thor to prepare for a battle.

They did so.

Yet it had been in vain.

The Asgardians fought bravely under the leadership of Thor, Loki and Heimdall, but many of them died in the process.

Now they are dining in Valhalla.

In the turmoil of the battle, the Mad Titan got to Thor and attempted to crush his skull.

He would have succeeded had Loki not bravely come forward.

"Let him go." Said the God of Mischief. "I have what you want." And he took out the Tesseract.

Immediately, Thanos' people encircled him and pointed their weapons at him.

Thanos' eyes sparkled with malice.

It seemed to be the end for the God of Mischief, a truly unjust and unfair one, considering how much he has suffered throughout the years; and a truly tragic one taking into account that finally, he has begun to find the lost brotherhood with Thor.

Fortunately, Loki was not an ordinary god.

He was the God of Mischief.

The Trickster.

The fun one.

When Thanos came to Loki to take the Tesseract out of his outstretched hand, Loki vanished in front of his disbelieving eyes.

It was just an illusion.

The God of Mischif was the master of illusions. His mother taught him to do them perfectly.

As Thanos was not expecting it, the real Loki who was standing behind the Mad Titan conjured a beautiful, green dagger and stabbed it into Thanos' black heart.

The Mad Titan was dead.

When his servants saw his demise, they rather ran away to the cesspits of the universe they had come from.

When Thor and the Asgardians saw what Loki did, they all agreed that with his wits, Loki would make the best possible King of Asgard and in a small ceremony, they crowned him.

Thor would swear to act as his bodyguard so that no harm would come to his little brother.

Finally, Loki got the recognition he deserved.

When their spaceship landed on Midgard, the people of Earth were firstly distrustful towards the new King of Asgard. Admittedly, they were right to be so.

Yet when the tales of Loki's bravery and cleverness of defeating Thanos reached their ears, they could only be grateful to Loki for saving them from a certain havoc. The Avengers, who were getting ready for the Battle of History, were out of job.

And so they decided to prepare a surprise for the God of Mischief.

Loki didn't know what they wanted to show him, but he trusted his brother when Thor told him that it was nothing nasty.

Loki was suspicious when they took him to the familiar square in Stuttgart.

Then he could only stare with the tears of happiness in his eyes as he was staring at a huge statue of himself with his hands pointed towards the sky and his helmet on. Underneath it, there was a simple sign:

Loki. The Saviour of Asgard and Earth.

And everyone lived happily ever after.

Well...so as I have written, this is not be taken seriously...it is just a little joke to calm my heart that keeps breaking upon hearing all those rumours. Of course, this story took into account only those few little things that I wanted to take into account.

I would, however, not be unhappy if the Infinity War went in this direction ;)
