Silly drabble by my cousins'. They're nine and ten. Be nice and review for them, okay?

Brooding

After an hour searching the island, Sora knew where Riku had disappeared to. He climbed into his boat and determinedly rowed out to the play island. He didn't know why he bothered checking anywhere else. If Riku was missing, there was only one place he would be.

As expected, Riku sat on the papou tree in his usual position, staring out into the ocean. His expression was neutral but once again his eyes betrayed him.

"Ya know." Sora hopped the trunk to sit beside him. "I have got to stop finding you like this."

The silver haired one didn't bother replying.

"What's wrong, Riku?"

"Nothing. Why do you always assume there's something wrong with me?" There was a slight edge to his voice.

"I don't always assume that." Sora frowned. "But your eyes are telling me you're upset about something."

Riku glared.

"All right, stop it with the eyes of doom, okay?" Sora turned to face the water. "But you know I won't leave until you spill."

Riku sighed. Of course he knew that. It had always been that way. Sora just didn't know when to let things drop. Not that it hadn't proven to be a beneficial trait.

He muttered something under his breath.

"What was that? I didn't quite catch that."

"The ice cream man ran out of Bomb Pops."
