Author's note: This is my take on the last moments of the Outer Sailor Soldiers of the Solar System after the Moon Kingdom's destruction. I believe the manga had already covered the interactions between the four soldiers (I can't recall if the anime ever did such a thing) so this is probably an over-done story. Never the less, I had fun working with these characters.

"Believe"

Sailor Saturn studied the grim faces of the last three Sailor Soldiers as they stood upon the ruins of the once beautiful and prosperous Moon Kingdom. Everywhere one looked, the Grim Reaper had collect its harvest. The eerie silence, save for the breaths of the last remaining mortals, was almost deafening.

"Suicide," Uranus whispered through clenched teeth, finally breaking the stillness surrounding her and her allies. She bowed her head in defeat as her shoulders trembled ever so slightly. "The princess…"

"She loved the Earth prince so dearly," Neptune remarked as she wrapped her arms around her chest, her eyes dark with what looked like tears refusing to pour out.

Pluto gazed solemnly at Saturn, who purposely stood apart from the group.

"The time draws near," she notified the soldier of ruin.

Saturn addressed the green haired woman with formality that betrayed her youthful appearance.

"Once I lower my glaive, nothing will remain. It is my mission to bring forth silence in order for peace to make its claim. There is nothing left of this world for any of us."

Pluto nodded in reluctant agreement, then turned to Neptune and Uranus. The two soldiers observed the remains that threatened to swallow them whole, absorbing every terrible sight their eyes could take in, before finally accepting their ultimate fates.

"Whatever happens," Neptune announced as she gazed up at Uranus' hardened face, "we will continue our mission to fight outside invaders."

Uranus clenched a fist at her side while locking eyes with Neptune. "We won't let such a fate like this happen again-no matter what." It was a vow she made out loud, yet it looked like she was making a personal oath to Neptune herself.

Saturn gradually approached the older women, all too aware of the cautious stares they gave her. As she took her place before them, she said, "If whatever happens in the next life we meet becomes too much, I shall awaken to unleash an end to all things."

She abruptly caught everyone off guard by offering them a vague but gentle smile. "We will see our princess again. It will be she who will lead us into a much brighter future. Believe in her, for she will bring forth the rebirth."

"Believe in our princess," Pluto concurred as she pressed her Garnet Rod close to her chest, like a protective shield.

Uranus and Neptune repeated what Pluto said; the two soldiers reached out and held hands, their gloved fingers entwined. Saturn took one last look at the three soldiers before she elegantly flipped backwards and landed quite a distance away. Propping herself on top of a broken column, behind her a curtain of black skies mysteriously void of stars, her Silent Glaive was positioned high above her head.

"Believe in our princess," Saturn whispered.

Moments later, the blade was lowered. No further words were spoken as the Silver Millennium drew to a silent but definitive close. Everything was swallowed up in a brilliant and hushed white light.
