Unlike the frost wendigo, Earth wendigos are ponies that have committed the most heinous crime against nature imaginable: Cannibalism. The earth wendigo looked like a gaunt skeleton recently disinterred from the grave, its skin pulled tautly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its coat is as black as the night. It has a head of a demonic elk with scruffy fur running down its back. What lips it has were tattered and bloody, its teeth yellowed and rotten. Being unclean and its body covered by many gaping wounds, the wendigo gave out a strange, eerie odor of decay and decomposition, of death and and corruption.

Several years ago, four ponies went on a trip to explore the everfree forest, they soon went missing the dark dangerous wild forest. After a two weeks Princess Celestia sent a search party comprised of several of her guards to search for the missing ponies, the guards know the ponies are named Flower blossom, Dark Spark, Cinnamon Icing and Dusk Runner, and that they have no first aid experience. After hiking for 6 hours they came upon the camp of the missing ponies, which have been trashed and discover blood on one of the shredded tents. One of the guards soon discovered the body of Dusk Runner, they quickly saw something have been eating his body. They quickly ruled out a manicore caused the have been chewed off cleanly and not crushed as the case would with a maincore. They found no other traces the other three ponies which they had soon resumed were likely dead, during the search of the area for anymore remains they found a diary near a blood splattered area in the forest, the following is what was written in that diary, it describes in detail on what happened during those two horrifying weeks in the everfree forest and the fates of those four unfortunate ponies..
