This is a one-shot is from the second book from the MCGA series, The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan.
Hearthstone was beginning to use sign language to talk to the daughter of his mother's servant, Inge. Just like her mother, Inge was the servant to Hearthstone. Secretly Inge had a crush on her master, Hearth but such a thing was frowned upon by the head of the mansion.
"Hearth, would you like to have a drink when I buy my break from your father?" She signed because Hearth was still learning to read lips. The young elf nodded as Inge was smiling and walked hastily toward the man of the house with her cow tail waving side to side happily.
"She is indeed a beautiful spirit." Hearth thought as he slowly made his way to the kitchen to get a pot of tea from the maids, such as his mothers. A few minutes later he made his way to the door to the garden and saw Igne smiling at him. "After you Master Hearth" she said, giving him a puzzling look as they went outside.
Once they were out in the garden the two of them sat under the shade of a tree. Hearthstone looked at his servants' tail swishing with glee. "Hearth, do you ever wish you could be able to hear?" Igne asked as the young elf looked at her lips before a glass of tea hid them.
Hearth shrugged his shoulders as he sipped his drink. Thinking about it for a few seconds. The servant saw him shake his head. Hearth grabbed a near-by stick and drew in their language 'no, while I am missing the sounds of the nine worlds, I have you by my side and that is all that I care about.'
Inge blushed ad she leaned in and kissed the cheek of her master. Hearthstone blushed as Inge pulled and blushed a darker shade of red, realizing the action that she had done. "I… I'm so sorry Master Hearthstone! Please for-" The young girl was cut off by the lips of her friend. The kiss was a sign of love, an innocent kiss from the master to the servant. But most of all, a sign of loving the master.
