"Okay look," Tori said, "I have something to say so I'm going to say it. I need to say it. It has to be said. The words need to be spoken and heard. I need to-"
"Tori," Jade said, "Stop saying you need to say it and just say it already!"
"You have so much going for you."
Jade relaxed her tense expression when Tori said that.
"You're pretty, smart, talented, funny and despite your bitchy attitude at times you're nice"
"And you-"
"No," Tori said, "You're not going to talk. You're going to listen. This-"
"Fine," she said, "If I'm going to listen lets take this outside so that I don't feel claustrophobic okay… great"
Her tone left no room for argument.
"But," Beck started to argue when he was cut off
"Okay great," Jade repeated.
Beck, Tori and Jade walked outside.
"So how is it that such a beautiful, talented, smart, funny girl like you is so damn insecure? Yes I know you went through difficult times- don't growl like that"
"Tori," Beck said gently
"No… Jade I know you've gone through some tough times before but it's not like you're the only one who's ever gone through tough times. I have too as you well know-"
"It's more then you think," Jade said, "It's my whole life that seems to be falling apart right now. You can't even begin to imagine what I'm going through at the moment."
"I'm sure I can imagine-"
"Oh really? Well now it's your turn to listen. In the past 4 months I LOST MY PARENTS, I'm raising my little sister and oh lets not forget I was viciously attacked 2 ½ months ago. That's not something you can just 'get over'."
Tori flushed deeply.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, "I had no idea"
"THAT'S RIGHT YOU DIDN'T," Jade said, "So when you say what you said this morning it makes me feel like I'm back in my worst days again. I CAN'T go back there. It's too much for me"
Jade paused
"You really think I'm all those things you said?"
"I really do," Tori said, "and you shouldn't be insecure because there's no reason for you to be insecure. Can we start over," Tori asked
"Yeah," Jade said, "But understand that what's mine isn't yours and DON'T FORGET IT"
"Yes ma'am," Tori said
"And Vega?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks"
