It Only Took A Minute
Author's Notes: This is not a rip off of the movie, "The Wedding Planner". I wanted to do a LJ fic and I came up with this. But there might be some lines taken off the movie.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter and I don't own "The Wedding Planner". Everything here that isn't Harry Potter related is mine.
Chapter One – The Lucky Bride And Groom
"Lily! Get in here!"
Lily Evans got up from her work place and walked inside Joanne Watson's office. It has been 4 years ever since she graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and now, she works in Weddings With Style in Muggle London where she works as a wedding planner. Her boss, Joanne loved her works and earned promotions and even awards. At the age of 21, Lily loved her work. It was the best job she could have.
"You called?" Lily said, sitting on the chair in front of Joanne's desk
"In fact, yes. Did you see Hour magazine lately?" Joanne asked
"No, why?" Lily asked
Joanne picked up the magazine that was in front of her and held it up in front of Lily. On the cover was famous designer, Simone Dawson on her wedding day. Lily took the magazine and flipped it to the page where Simone's wedding was.
"This wedding has been a huge success and we owe it all to Weddings With Style's wedding planner, Lily Evans!" she shrieked, "Oh my God!"
Lily hugged Joanne when Joanne suddenly remembered.
"Oh, before I forget, I assigned you to plan one of our client's wedding" Joanne said, releasing Lily from their hug
"I'll take it. Whose wedding?"
"James Potter's and Lisa Sullivan's" Joanne said
Lily's jaw dropped and blinked for a moment
"And they were requesting a garden wedding. That's why I placed you on the job. I know you do great in garden…floral…weddings" Joanne smiled at her
"I take that back, Joanne. I'm not doing James Potter's wedding!"
"Why?"
"James Potter is a self-centered, ignorant, obnoxious…bastard!" Lily said, "He's a ladies-man! He thinks every girl in our school will fall head-over-heels with him!"
"I'm sure you don't mean that. He's a changed man, you'll see. Anyway, you're doing it. And that's final" Joanne said, "You may go now. And by the way, you can have the rest of the day off so you can think about the wedding."
Lily rolled her eyes and stormed her way out of the door. Her friend, Kylie Griffin saw her walk out of the door, aggravated.
"Bad day with Joanne?" she said
"Would you believe I'm doing James Potter's wedding?"
"Whoa. You mean the one whom you kept telling me that he's an insolent jerk?"
"That's the one" Lily sighed
"Aw c'mon. How bad can that be? Just ignore him while you plan the wedding. I'm sure…whoever his fiancé is will do most of the talking" Kylie reassured her
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Anyway, I'm gonna go now. Jo gave me the rest of the day off"
"Lucky you. See you, then" Kylie waved goodbye as Lily exited the room
Lily arrived in front of her apartment, got out her keys and opened the door. She was greeted by her brown Dachshund whom she named, Lady. Lily patted her on the head and went inside the kitchen. She grabbed a bag of chips and went inside her bedroom with Lady following behind her. She sat down on her chair while Lady jumped on Lily's bed. Lily took out a notebook from a drawer and began planning the wedding.
