FREE THE ELVES

Prologue

It was already past midnight. Hermione Granger was still knitting away, making little (deformed) hats, socks and the occasional sweater.

Finally, when her eyelids were starting to close on their own accord, did she decide to call it a night. She took out the bag of rubbish (she had collected it from the great hall after supper), and lay her knitted works on the table. Grabbing a handful of rubbish, she placed it over the first hat, and then proceeded to repeat the process for all the other ones.

Then, Hermione hid the hats (which now looked like little piles of rubbish) around the Gryffindor commonroom, and admired her accomplishment.

Tired, but satisfied, she trudged up the stairs, and snuggled into her bed, thinking about all the house elfes she had freed.

Three little house elves apperated into the Gryffindor common room. They looked around, shocked by the mess, and decided to get to work at once.

"Blinky, I'll tend the fire, Frekus will do the usual, and you can tidy up the rubbish!" One house elf told the other.

It's companions nodded, and set to work.

Suddenly, Blinky gave a high-pitched scream. The other two elves, Freskus and Seppi, looked at her in horror, worried that she would awaken the students, but she had started crying.

"What is it, Blinky?" Seppi asked.

"Blinky... Blinky is FREE!" She howled.

The other two looked at her, confused.

"What does you mean, Blinky?" Freskus scratched his head.

It took a while before Blinky calmed down. She kept on sobbing, and she could hardly say a word before a fresh bout of tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Blinky was just tidying, and she picks up a pile of rubbish, and in the pile was a HAT!" Blinky said, before she started crying again.

"Oh, no..." Seppi said, sitting down on the floor. "We must see Professor Dumbledore!"

And, with that, the three elves (Seppi and Freskus carrying Blinky) set if to the headmasters office.

Authors Note: Sorry that it is reeeeaaally short, if I get positive feedback, I will continue this fic.

Maybe I might make it a funny fic with the school ceasing to funktion because Hermione set all of the elves free, or something.
