Author's Note
This is my first fan fiction and I know it's not well written. But I thought it was a good idea and wanted to share it. So please let me know what you think,
Leaving and Never Coming Back
Severus Snape was leaving and no force on Earth could stop him. He'd tried before countless times, but this time he meant business.
Never again would he walk those massive corridors or pace those dank dungeons. Never again would he feel those fiendish eyes watching him, looking for each and every weakness they could exploit, and forcing him to be suspicious and paranoid.
He knew perfectly well that he was running away from one of the most powerful wizards since Merlin. He knew perfectly well that they would come looking for him. And he knew perfectly well that he was leaving and never coming back.
When he was young and desperate it had seemed like salvation. Only later did he realize that he had volunteered himself into his personal hell. He could never understand how others could stand it, or even enjoy it. Every day was torture, and every night was torture dreading the day to come.
As Snape neared the apparition boundary one thought was foremost in his mind. 'Not anymore.' He was so close he could taste freedom. He would go to Australia, become a hermit, grow a mustache, anything is took to stay hidden. Just one more step—
And then there was Dumbledore, with his kind worlds and persuasive speech. And before Snape knew it he was turned around and Dumbledore was leading him back to Hogwarts. Again.
"Surely teaching can't be that bad, Severus my boy."
