Pairing: TYL!1827
Summary: A moment between Hibari and Tsuna, ten years in the future.
In the warmly lit office, a man sat on a large comfortable armchair and perused his papers, occasionally using a gilded fountain pen to sign the documents. The scribble of the tip against paper filled the silence in the room for a moment, before it stopped. The armchair creaked as he crossed his legs and sat back into the plush comfort of the cushions, rubbing his eyes wearily. A glance at the worn antique clock on his table told him how long it had been since his last meal, and his stomach chose that moment to voice its complaints.
He shook his head and stood up, stretching his arms out with a slight groan. At that moment, he felt more like an old man than his actual twenty four years of age as his back cracked with the movement. He retrieved his suit jacket from the back of the armchair before walking out of his office into the next room, where he was greeted by the sight of a familiar silver-haired man dozing off on a desk. He stifled a chuckle and moved to the other man's side, gently draping his jacket over the other before dimming the lamp on the table.
"Sleep well," he whispered fondly to his sleeping right-hand man. They had been rather busy lately; he was not going to begrudge his guardian some much-needed sleep. He hoped that the busy period would pass and they could all get their rest soon.
He continued moving down the hallway, feet leading the way to the nearest pantry out of habit. He was used to having dinner at strange hours of the night, usually because he had been too absorbed in his paperwork. The kitchen staff knew well enough now, and there was always a platter of food left on the table of the pantry closest to his office.
However, to his surprise, in addition to his dinner, there was someone else sitting at the table and delivering a glare at him. He resisted the urge to whimper under that familiar killing gaze, and simply smiled sheepishly at the other.
"You finished your mission early."
The glare seemed to intensify, and he quickly slid into his seat. His dinner was different today; it wasn't the usual pasta or Italian fare that the chefs served. Instead, it looked like omelet rice, something he had not eaten in a long time. It looked like it had just been cooked too, with steam rising off the soft egg.
"Did you cook this? For me?" He smiled cheerfully at the other, unperturbed by the seemingly black expression the other was wearing.
"Eat it. Now."
With his stomach rumbling in anticipation of the warm meal, he simply sent a look of gratitude towards the other and whispered a quick 'Itadakimasu' before tucking in. It tasted heavenly, and he made sure to let out content noises as he ate, showing the cook his appreciation.
He finished his dinner all too soon, and he let out a satisfied sigh. The other stood up, and he followed suit, moving up to the fierce man and wrapping his arms around him.
"Thank you for the meal, Kyouya."
His Cloud guardian's only reply was a 'hnn', though warm arms returned the embrace. They walked side by side down the hallway, each taking comfort in the other's warmth, as their feet guided them down a familiar path to their bedroom.
There, he took off his now rumpled suit and carelessly tossed it to the floor, just as the other did the same. He turned to join his lover, already tucked into bed, and reaches out to put his arms around the other. There are no words now, but in the silence, they fall asleep, the cloud drifting in the embrace of the sky.
